Shinki Hikaku is based in Himeji Japan. A region known for leather tanning as well as one of the most famous castles in all of Japan.

As well as Shell Cordovan, Shinki Hikaku also supplies us with a horsehide latigo and their other horsehide leathers are well known for use in high end jackets. Horsehide is used because it is a much thinner leather than cowhide and the surface grain is vastly different to cowhide. The hides are sourced from the meat industry in Europe.
